Plot Summary

Episode Synopsis:

In the first episode, Dr. Kate Allen (Oh) is a respected psychotherapist who spends her days helping others and her nights drinking away the pain of an old, professional-sports-related injury. She is living a life of drudgery and routine: working with clients and dating exes – one at the same time. Six episodes that will change both her life and theirs in surprising ways.

At the end of Episode One, Dr. Kate Allen’s (Oh) leg injury catches up to her as she runs out on stage for an event honoring her father who died 20 years ago when he ran into traffic chasing his runaway son Luke Allen Jr.’s (Tommy Dorfman) ball and was struck by a car.;

In episode two, we find Dr. Kate getting little sleep before work because every night during REM phases, she has dreams where she is back in “the game,” scoring hoops with her dad. She wakes up and does the crossword until she falls asleep again, only to have a similar dream;

In episode three, Dr. Kate is finally getting help from one of her exes who’s been texting her for months but has always left before they could talk about what happened between them.”
