We Own This City is an eye-opening look at how corruption can flourish in our society. Baltimore Sun reporter Justin Fenton details the story of a group called “The Gun Trace Task Force,”  . Which consisted entirely too many police officers trying to enrich themselves with money .  From illegal guns transactions gone wrong! In this gritty drama, you will see what happens when people are given unchecked power over others’ lives .  As well as their own – it’s not pretty but also very enlightening.

What is the plot of the story ?

The Gun Trace Task Force was a group of Baltimore police officers . Who were caught illegally selling guns. They would buy guns from illegal dealers.  And then resell them to people who couldn’t get them legally. This caused a lot of violence in the city . And the task force was eventually disbanded. The story follows the task force as they try to enrich themselves and how their power affects the people around them. It’s a gritty drama that shows . What happens when people are given too much power.

The cast include Jon Bernthal , Jamie Hector , Josh Charles , and J.D. Williams . Jon Bernthal played the role of a corrupt police officer who was in charge of the task force. Jamie Hector played a drug dealer who supplied guns to the task force. Josh Charles played a lawyer who represented the task force. J.D. Williams played a member of the task force.

What are the challenges they face ?

The challenges faced by the group were many. But most notably was the lack of oversight and accountability. This led to a culture of corruption that allowed officers to pocket money from illegal guns transactions with little fear of reprisal. Additionally, the group’s members often used excessive force . When carrying out their duties, leading to a number of lawsuits being filed against the city.

What is the climax like ?

The climax of We Own This City is when Justin Fenton finally reveals the group’s corruption to the public. After years of investigating, he has gathered enough evidence to show that the Gun Trace Task Force was illegally selling guns and pocketing the money. This story caused a huge scandal in Baltimore and many of the officers involved were fired or arrested .

What is the ending like ?

The ending is very eye-opening and gritty. It really shows how people in power can abuse their position for their own personal gain. It’s a very powerful story.  That definitely makes you think twice about the criminal justice system. Overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in learning more.  About how corruption can flourish in our society.

The Gun Trace Task Force is the antagonist in this story. They were a group of police officers who abused their power and used illegal guns transactions to line their own pockets. This led to corruption and ultimately, the downfall of the task force. The Gun Trace Task Force’s motives were primarily financial. They wanted to make as much money as possible through illegal gun sales. However, their actions also led to a lot of violence and crime in the city.

Who is the most loved character ?

The most loved character is probably the city of Baltimore itself. Despite all of the corruption that was going on. The city still managed to maintain its charm and uniqueness. People from all over the world flock to Baltimore to experience its one-of-a-kind culture. Even though “The Wire” may have given the city a bad reputation . Its residents know that it is still the best place to call home.

What are the epic scenes ?

The Gun Trace Task Force was a group of Baltimore police officers.  Who were caught illegally selling guns. They would buy guns from people who could not legally possess them.  And then sell the guns to other people for a profit. One of the most epic scenes in the book is when one of the members of the task force, Sergeant Wayne Jenkins, is caught on tape selling a gun to someone who he knows is a drug dealer.
