What is the plot of the story?

Buzz Lightyear is a toy action figure who comes to life in the hands of Andy, the young boy next door. When Buzz learns that he is a toy and not really an astronaut as he had believed, he falls into a deep depression. But with the help of his new friends, Woody and Jessie, Buzz journeys out into the world to find out where he belongs. Along the way, they encounter all kinds of obstacles and dangers, but ultimately learn that home is wherever they are together.

Who is in the cast?

Buzz Lightyear is a Space Ranger who believes he’s a real astronaut. He meets Woody, an Old West Sheriff and Andy’s favourite toy, at the beginning of the movie and becomes jealous when Andy chooses to play with Woody instead of him. Buzz soon realizes that it doesn’t matter what kind of toy you are; what matters is the love you receive from your owner.

Woody is an Old West Sheriff and Andy’s favourite toy. He starts off as being very self-centred but learns to care for others throughout the movie. Andy is a young boy who loves his toys dearly. He has a strong emotional connection with them, which is shown by the fact that he’s very upset when they’re taken away from him.

What are the main events in the film?

The film begins with a young Andy receiving his first birthday present, Woody. He goes on to become Andys favourite toy and the rest of the toys are jealous that he is so special to their owner. As time passes by though, Andy gets other presents for his birthdays including Buzz Lightyear who quickly becomes Andys new favourite toy. This creates a rivalry between Woody and Buzz which leads to them being lost outside. They both end up in the hands of Sid, a neighbour boy who is known for mutilating toys.

What is the ending like?

Woody and Buzz are eventually rescued by Andys toys, but Woody gets left behind. He decides to go back for his friend though, and they both make it home safely. Andy goes on to take them with him when he moves house as the film ends happily.

Is there a Villian?

Sid, the neighbour boy who is known for mutilating toys. He is not really a villain as such, but more of an obstacle for Woody and Buzz to overcome.

That friends are the most important thing in life, and that they should never be abandoned. It also promotes the importance of family values.

What ratings did the film get?

The film received an 86% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with the consensus being “Toy Story fans will love the humour and heart in this sequel, while those new to the franchise will appreciate its clever and kid-friendly approach.”. It also grossed $118 million at the box office on a budget of $200 million. So, it was both a critical and commercial success. If you are looking for a good family movie to watch, then I would highly recommend Lightyear.

Yes, the moral is that friendship is more important than anything else. Woody and Buzz put their lives at risk to save each other, proving that true friendship will always prevail.

Critics generally praised the film for its humour and emotional depth. Some felt that it was not as good as the original, but most agreed that it was a worthy sequel.
