The Addams Family 2 sequel has been given a new trailer by MGM Studios, which shows the macabre and odd family heading off on a family holiday.

The studio recently reversed a previous policy on the release approach. The animated sequel was originally intended to premiere only in theaters but will now be available on video-on-demand platforms on the same day, suggesting studios must accommodate the COVID-19 epidemic in order to maintain their calendars.

The Addams Family 2 is one of three continuing films based on the comic strip of the same name. Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luiz Guzman have been cast in Tim Burton’s TV series Wednesday, which will premiere on Netflix next year. Morticia and Gomez Addams are played by Zeta-Jones and Guzmán in the show.
The Addams Family: Mansion Mayhem will be available later this year, allowing players to explore the “hideously exciting” history of the family home while 3D-platforming their way through the game, jumping, bumping, and racing along the way. The Addams Family 2’s new trailer depicts a flashback to the day Wednesday was born, during which Uncle Fester visited the wing with the other newborn babies and celebrated her birth by juggling them all around while claiming to have put them back where they belonged, much to Gomez and Morticia’s horror.
It may appear to be a throwaway gag in Fester’s mind, but it is worth noting the shot showing the Addams crib does not include a view of Wednesday, suggesting that she was inadvertently switched at the hospital by Fester and implying an explanation as to her hatred for her parents.
The Addams Family sequel, which is set to premiere on October 1, will tell the next chapter in the saga of Gomez and Morticia’s children. Only time will tell how this tale concludes and who the dark villain is.
