Other Details To Know

Apparently, this reboot will have a lot of big names from the Hollywood world and, interestingly, superstar filmmaker Quentin Tarantino is among them. Apparently, he’s not playing a role himself but has taken up an executive producer position behind the scenes.

The series description for the show reads: “Carole Baskin (McKinnon), a big cat enthusiast, uncovers Joe “Exotic” Schreibvogel’s scheme to make money by breeding and using big cats. The rivalry that ensues is dangerous as Carole has some skeletons in her own closet.”

“Joe Exotic is shaping up to be a bold and provocative drama,” Susan Rovner told the Hollywood Reporter about the series. “Moving Joe Exotic exclusively to Peacock allows us more flexibility creatively, where we can explore edgy topics that would be difficult on traditional networks.”

The show is not based on the Netflix adaptation. Rather, it’s an extension of the Wondery podcast series, which premiered two weeks before its companion show will be released.

One of the two dramatizations of the Tiger King saga currently running is being produced by NBC and Universal Cable Productions. Nicolas Cage has committed to play Joe Exotic in this project, which will be titled “The King”.
