Percy Jackson And The Olympians: Adds new three cast members in the Disney series.

The Lightning Thief is a fantasy novel written by Rick Riordan and published by Hyperion in 2005. It is the first book of his five-volume Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, which follows thirteen-year-old Percy’s adventures after he discovers he is a demigod and son of Poseidon. The novel was initially met with critical acclaim; it sold over 1.4 million copies within the first year.

What is the plot of the story ?

Percy Jackson, a 12-year-old boy with dyslexia, is about to be expelled from middle school. On the last day of term, his Latin teacher reveals to him that he is really a demigod and the son of Poseidon. Percy has gone to New York City with his mother to visit the Empire State Building when three fellow demigods: Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood find him. They are attacked by a manticore, but Percy manages to kill it. The three tell him that monsters have come out of hiding because someone has stolen Zeus’s master lightning bolt.

The cast include Logan Lerman , Brandon T. Jackson , Alexandra Daddario , Steve Coogan and a cameo by Pierce Brosnan as the voice of Chiron . Logan Lerman played the role of Percy Jackson, a 12-year-old boy with dyslexia, while Brandon T. Jackson played the role of Grover Underwood, a satyr who has been assigned to look after Percy. Alexandra Daddario played the role of Annabeth Chase, 14-years old and also a daughter of Athena. Steve Coogan played the role of Dionysus, and Pierce Brosnan played the role of Chiron.

What are the difficulties they face ?

Percy, who has dyslexia, is surprised to discover that he is a demigod. When he is accused of stealing Zeus’s lightning bolt, he sets off to find the bolt and settle the fight between the gods. The Lightning Thief tackles the themes of growing up and dealing with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). Percy Jackson learns that he is a half-blood, the son of a human and a Greek god, specifically Poseidon. He must learn to deal with his dyslexia and ADHD while trying to live up to his divine birthright.


Who is the antagonist ? What are its motives ?

The main antagonist is Luke Castellan. Luke is an excellent swordsman who can use a sword as easily as Percy can use his demigod powers. He turns out to be the leader of a band of evil demigods called the Titan Army. His motive is to defeat the gods and rule Olympus. The epic scenes take place when Percy goes to Olympus to find out who has stolen Zeus’ lightning bolt and accidentally unleashes a Titan. Later on, in order to close the doors of the castle, Percy must confront the thief and fight him/her.

Who is the most loved character ?

The most loved character is Percy Jackson, the son of Poseidon. He is courageous and brave. Annabeth says that he has a great heart and that he will never give up until he completes the quest. The good thing that the characters do is friendship. Percy is a natural leader and cares deeply for his friends. They go on many adventures and even in tight spots they make sure to watch out for each other first. Even when Percy’s mother falls into Tartarus, he risks his life for her by flying off with her to reach Mount Olympus to save her from dying.
