Marcel the Shell With Shoes On : Is considered to be one kind of an adorable movie .

Connie, the only residents of their town after their neighbors’ sudden mysterious disappearance. When discovered by a guest amongst the clutter of his Airbnb . The short film he posts online brings Marcel millions of passionate fans and a new hope of reuniting with his long-lost family.  .The film also shows that it is okay to be different from the others in a positive way. It also illustrates how people can have opposite personalities but still come together as one, while helping each other.

What is the plot of the story ?

The story is about a little boy named Marcel who has just lost his family and has nowhere else to live, until he moves in with his grandmother. She takes him to a special place where the town disappeared hundreds of years ago, when a guest dropped in at their home and it brought them fame.

Who is in the cast ? What role did each character portray ?

The cast include Jenny Slate , Dean Fleischer Camp , Rob Corddry , Mary Houlihan, Craig Robinson and Marcel . We see the story from Jenny Slate’s point of view. The cast voice the main characters and also appear in person. Jenny Slate portrayed the role of Marcel (voice and person). Dean Fleischer-Camp portrayed the characters of Marcel’s grandmother, Connie and the guest. Rob Corddry portrayed the character of Art who is a part of the family. Mary Houlihan portrayed Saffron, one of Marcel’s relatives. Craig Robinson also portrayed himself as a part of the family, while he was driving.

What are the difficulties they faced ?

The team had a hard time finding the right actors for their roles. Many of them were recorded in digital form, so it was hard to match with their voices. They also had to figure out how to make Marcel and others speak spanish. In the film, one of the difficulties that Marcel and his grandmother face is that Connie has to choose between making money from their visitors or to make sure that Marcel does not get hurt. The themes are family, friendship and being unique.

Who is the antagonist ? What are its motives ?

The antagonist is the guest, Art. He is a very important person in Marcel’s life, since he disappeared the day his family disappeared. Art took part in their lives and showed them a different way of living than the others, which leads to their disappearance. He also helped Connie make all the money they made from Marcel’s videos. Despite that he is an antagonist, we see that he truly cared about Marcel and his grandmother when he saved them during a hurricane.

What are the epic scenes ?

The epic scenes include the part when Marcel, his grandmother and Art are trapped by a hurricane. Art tries to save them but is ultimately unable to do so. They were lucky enough to receive help from two of Marcel’s relatives. The genre of our story is drama. The movie focuses on the relationship between Marcel, Connie and Art, over a period of time that includes their disappearance, while they try hard to find their family again.

Who is the most loved character ?

The most loved character is Rodolfo. He is one of the two relatives that comes to rescue Marcel and his grandmother when they are trapped by the hurricane. He appears in the film and tries to convince Connie to come with him so that she can continue making videos with Marcel. Although she refuses, they both end up being trapped in the same car during a flood. This leads them to realize that they can help each other survive if they listen to each other’s advice, which ultimately ends up saving their lives.

Would you recommend watching this ?

I would definitely recommend watching our short film. It is very entertaining and inspiring. I would also recommend watching it if you want to know about the challenges we had to face and how our team overcame them. We were able to find the perfect cast that offered their voices with 100% accuracy, which was something we were dreaming of since the beginning. The main difficulty was finding Spanish actors who could speak perfect Spanish . Thanks for reading !
