The difficulties faced by these survivors are many, and include the entire world becoming a dead zone in which there is no place to hide from the undead. They become ever increasing as time goes by and as walkers evolve into what is known as a “roamer”, with increased speed and strength. Caution also has to be taken on not to attract too much attention, since in the event of attracting a horde, the odds of survival become dismal. Just one bite causes infection that would change you into a zombie, thus putting you at constant risk of being killed or devoured. The themes throughout the story are of character development, survival and the search for a goal. Unlike in most zombie stories, the survivors do not try to simply outlast the undead, but seek a good reason to survive.

Who is the antagonist ? What are its motives ?

The antagonist of this story is the zombie apocalypse and whoever or whatever caused it. The motives are to devour anything in their way as they travel across the country, turning those who are not killed into their own kind. As a result, the survivors are not just fighting the undead, but also rival groups of survivors. The chase for safety and power continues as more humans are being killed off. Rick Grimes is the main protagonist of this story and is regarded as a hero by many who believe him to be a worthy leader to follow.

What are the epic scenes ?

Some of the epic scenes include the first meeting between Rick and a group of survivors known as “the Atlanta survivors”, which takes place at a camp near Atlanta. It marks the first appearance of the series’ primary antagonist, The Governor, who seeks to conquer and imprision all survivors within his community, Woodbury. A second encounter follows in which Daryl is captured by The Governor and must be rescued by his brother Merle, who had been previously lost in Atlanta. There is also the epic battle between Rick’s group and another survivor named Tyreese outside of Woodbury in a fight for safety.
