Peaky Blinders is a BBC television series that is set in 1919, during the “Peak of British iron and coal” led by the Peaky Blinders gang. Many historical events are going on at once, such as the General Strike, the Royal visit to Ireland, the deaths of those in power, and political assassinations. It’s an amazing show to watch. In the show, Tommy Shelby is an arrogant man that tries to get out of prison. He finds himself back in jail when he decides to help the black market.

What is the plot of the story?

In the opening of the show, we meet Tommy Shelby, who is a dangerous man in Birmingham. He leads a gang called Peaky Blinders that engages in criminal activities such as theft and robbery. Soon after this introduction, Inspector Chester Campbell finds out about Tommy Shelby and decides to put an end to his criminal activities. At the beginning of the story, his gang has him in hiding. Soon after this, the Peaky Blinders go on the run and find themselves in Ireland. In Ireland, they engage in criminal activities and other dangerous acts. Meanwhile, Inspector Campbell is out to catch them in their new hideout.

Who is in the cast? What role did each character portray?

The cast includes Cillian Murphy, Helen McCrory, Joe Cole, Paul Anderson, Paul Anderson, and Sam Neill. The character Tommy Shelby was portrayed by Cillian Murphy, who also played the lead role in the movie 28 weeks later. The character Chester Campbell was played by Neil Maskell. He portrayed “Bunny” in Harry Potter and Stephan Mueller (The 45th president of the United States) in the movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

What are the difficulties they face?

Tommy Shelby faces the difficulties of getting out of prison. He also faces the hurdles of dealing with the black market, and how to deal with a corrupt market. The main female character, Ada Shelby, also faces many challenges when she tries to get away from her abusive husband, Chester Campbell. The theme of this show is mainly power and how to get it, or how to keep it. Tommy Shelby wants to be the most powerful man in Birmingham, the Midlands, and even in the city.

Tommy Shelby is the most loved character. He is a man that wants to be the strongest in Birmingham. He also wants to be the power behind the throne of Birmingham. Another main love is Ada Shelby. She likes Tommy, but he doesn’t like her because she isn’t very strong and she is condescending (weak).

Who is the antagonist? What are its motives?

The antagonist is Inspector Chester Campbell. He wants to put an end to Tommy Shelby’s criminal activities, even if he has to take him down without arresting him. His motives are to bring the most powerful man in Birmingham back down a peg or two. The climax was when Tommy Shelby and his gang were riding on horses, wearing their capes, and creating the ‘Peaky Blinder’ effect. They were storming into the warehouse armed with guns to steal a container of potatoes. Some of the epic scenes are when Tommy Shelby and Soloman, who is a members of his gang, both make a deal in the black market to sell their stolen goods. Another one is when Tommy Shelby met with Arnold Hardy, another criminal from the black market, to sell his stolen coal. He also made deals with Soloman and Arnold to buy guns.
