When Marvel Studios has the power to run an assembly line, it’s telling. When one of their projects has a genuinely human spark that allows franchise values like spectacular performances, stunning acting, and intricate representations of the family to shine through, it’s even more revealing.

The first category includes films like “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” which is a retelling of elements from previous Marvel movies: “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Black Panther,” and “Thor: Ragnarok” spring to mind. This film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, fits in with Marvel’s style in its own way while also having a lot of soulfulness.

So what do you think? Is this one worth seeing, or should we wait for Netflix? Let’s take a closer look!

Shang-Chi and The Legend Of The Ten Rings Review:

What is the significance of the Ten Rings’ blue and yellow color change in Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings? The MCU’s true Mandarin had been in possession of the Ten Rings for thousands of years when he wielded them as a conqueror.

However, in the film’s final fight, his son Shang-Chi inherited the rings, causing them to glow yellow. What is the greater narrative significance behind this hue shift, and does it impact the Ten Rings’ powers?

The Mandarin (also known as Wenwu) discovered the strong artifacts either in a crater or within a tomb, according to legends, with the real MCU origin of the Ten Rings yet to be revealed.

The Mandarin’s powers and abilities, however, were staggering. They made his father immortal and endowed him with the ability to defeat all of his foes. The Ten Rings amplified his natural abilities and strength, allowing the Mandarin to create shields and extend his assaults’ range, as well as controlling rings in flight before returning them. In addition, they allowed him to travel enormous distances while emanating a brilliant blue glow.

When the Mandarin sought to free the Dweller-in-Darkness from its confinement in Ta Lo, he was fooled into believing it was his wife who was trapped instead. When Shang-Chi went after the first set of five rings that his father had stolen, the Ten Rings began reacting and adjusting in attunement with his presence.

The rings, which had been dormant upon his first encounter with them, began to glow yellow-orange and shoot out yellow energy the second time he used them. When the Dweller-in-Darkness was set free, and Wenwu recognized his mistake, he handed over command of all the rings before dying.

Shang-Chi subsequently made effective use of the Ten Rings by seemingly unlocking a higher power as a result of having the Heart of the Dragon, perhaps explaining why the rings changed color.

Unfortunately, the Ten Rings from the comics aren’t quite as unique as those worn by both the Mandarin and Shang-Chi-like bracers in the MCU.

In the comics, therefore, there is no explanation for the Ten Rings color shift. It’s conceivable that the comic book rings do as well and recognized the change in wielders, thus prompting a color change.

It appears that the primary reason for the shift in the film is because Shang-Chi now possesses the Heart of the Dragon, which matches the colors of other weapons created from his father’s scales.

It’s important to note that yellow is regarded as the “central” color in Chinese color theory and is also linked to power and the yin and yang, which are in perfect balance–exactly what Shang-Chi needed to overcome his dad. Blue, on the other hand, represents immortality/longevity and progress, both of which are appropriate for Wenwu’s son.

The Ten Rings’ transition from blue to yellow, from a purely aesthetic standpoint, serves to be visually stunning, letting the audience know when Shang-Chi was controlling the rings against his father and when they fully came into his possession after the Mandarin’s death.

The Ten Rings have transformed Shang-Chi from an average hero into a powerful force, making him a vital new Avenger in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 4 and beyond. The Ten Rings, unlike the Hand or Hydra, were never a household name.

Although their origins are unknown, it appears that the mysteries surrounding Shang Chi will continue to be unraveled, and a more certain answer will be given for the MCU’s next color change. The current film installment in the franchise is titled Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings.
