“Cabinet of Curiosities” – Based on a Novel?

The series is based on a novel by author Ransom Riggs, who’s best known for his 2011 book; Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children, which was adapted into a popular film; last year starring Eva Green and Asa Butterfield. So far, Netflix has only ordered up to six episodes.

But I imagine if it does well, they’ll order more down the line, as with most Netflix shows such as Stranger Things and Master Of None, etc… If you’ve never read any of Robins’ books; before or seen either movie adaptation, then Cabinet should be right up your alley as he specializes in the Victorian era style of writing that brings to life fanciful worlds filled with magical objects and oddities.

The series is set in 1895, just after the mysterious disappearance of Lord D’Souza outside Aldershot Barracks (military camp), where he was last seen interacting with a large hulking creature made out of smoke before vanishing into thin air. His fiancee Drusilla finds an advertisement for Peculiar House, which specializes in “failing” cases such as epilepsy, hysteria, self-harming, etc.

Netflix’s “Cabinet of Curiosities” Netflix original series release date is not yet confirmed. This will be Netflix’s first Victorian fantasy horror show to debut in the winter season and join Netflix’s growing list of adult animation titles.

“Cabinet of Curiosities” Netflix’s original series follows the story of three siblings who are sent to their uncle’s home in Suffolk, England. The house is full of strange antiques and artifacts that at first seem innocuous but soon reveal themselves to be anything but ordinary.

The “Cabinet of Curiosities” Netflix series may explore themes such as familial bonds, sibling rivalry, dark magic or sorcery, hauntings by ghosts or spirits, or perhaps even possession/exorcism! We have no doubt there will also be creepy dolls.

Netflix’s “Cabinet of Curiosities” Cast and Crew

If rumors are true, then Netflix has already found its lead cast for Netflix’s “Cabinet of Curiosities” Netflix series.

It is expected that the Netflix original series will start shooting sometime in 2021, but Netflix has yet to make any official announcements about its plans or release date for “Cabinet of Curiosities.”
