the expanse seaosn 6

We’ve just learned that Season 6 of The Expanse will not be coming to Amazon Prime Video in August 2021. The sixth and final season for this sci-fi hit is still not available. Searching Amazon’s list from August doesn’t reveal any hope of episodes in the near future.

If we’re honest, it was a moment of great surprise when the release date for this month’s episode became clear. Season 6 of The Expanse is reportedly finished filming but will require months to edit and make sure everything looks as perfect as possible. What can you tell us about the sixth season of The Expanse?

The Expanse Season 6 Release Date Details:

While the end of The Expanse is in sight, there isn’t an exact release date just yet. It is expected to come out by December 2021 at the earliest.

This would match up with the release of seasons 4 and 5. We’re also expecting a hybrid release like Season 5, which was released both in its traditional TV format and as a video-on-demand service.

The Expanse Season 6 is slated to be the final season. It’s unclear whether Amazon will reverse that decision as it was largely influenced by creative decisions from their end.

The Expanse Season 6 Cast Details:

  • Steven Strait as James Holden
  • Dominique Tipper as Naomi Nagata
  • Wes Chatham as Amos Burton
  • Frankie Adams as Bobbie Draper
  • Shohreh Aghdashloo as Chrisjen Avasarala
  • Keon Alexander as Marco Inaros

The Expanse Season 6 Plot Synopsis:

It all boils down to the decision not to have a time jump in this adaptation. Instead, screenwriters are going to finish the story based on where it ended in book six before the aging starts.

The Expanse season 6 will be about the war against Marco. He’s gathering the Belt together to fight against Mars and Earth, but it’ll be up to the two planets and Belters who don’t want to join Marco to fight instead.

The episode set the stage nicely for what’s to come next, with Marco firmly established as one of the most dangerous things in the universe. All eyes will be on him, but the crew of the Rocinante has more bad news to deal with following Alex Kamal’s death.

Naren Shankar, the show-runner of The Expanse, insists that the decision to kill a major character on this Netflix original series was not in response to any real-world allegations.
