Exclusive Updates: Jeremy Renner Talks About Kate Bishop’s Marvel Debut In Hawkeye!

Jeremy Renner, who plays Hawkeye in Marvel’s The Avengers and will be reprising his role in the upcoming mini-series, has been giving an exclusive interview to Entertainment Tonight! He talks about what it was like working on the film with Black Widow, how he feels for Kate Bishop’s debut in the comics, as well as her own movie. Jeremy also touches on the character of Clint Barton and reveals a few things about Hawkeye that we don’t know yet!

About the upcoming Marvel series “Hawkeye.”

Jeremy said: “It’s not a superhero show, per se. It feels more grounded and gritty.” Jeremy also had some kind words to say about Kate Bishop in the comics as well as her own movie, stating that he would love for there to be one with his daughter, Ava Renner! Jeremy talks about how happy he is for Kate Bishop’s debut in the Marvel comic world and hopes she will return soon.

In this interview, Jeremy mentions only liking dark chocolate ice cream, which surprises us because we always thought of him as someone who enjoys all types of flavors! And something we didn’t know before now was that Jeremy has a son named Landon with Alexis Sanders from Boston Legal back in 2003.

Kate Bishop is a fan-favorite character, and Jeremy Renner’s now getting his chance to tell her story. “The best part about this show for me as an actor playing Clint Barton, having had the experience of working with multiple different actors at this point – Jeremy [Renner] has been one of my favorite ones just because he brings something really unique,” said Fillion. “He looks radically different than I do.”

Hawkeye will be driven by Kate’s perspective, but it also doesn’t shy away from exploring Hawkeye and other characters in the Marvel universe through a new lens while still maintaining what makes them so special to their fans over the years. As Jeremy Renner puts it: “It would be kind of weird if Jeremy Renner was playing Jeremy Renner.”

“It’s a series about what it means to be human, and that is something I’m very interested in,” said Jeremy. “I think we’re all trying to figure out who we are underneath the masks of everything else.”
