What is One Punch Man?

One-Punch Man is a Japanese action-comedy webcomic created by ONE, the writer and illustrator. It was first published on One’s NicoNico account from 2009 to 2012 before being serialized through Young Jump Web Comics from June 18, 2012, to December 24, 2016.

The series follows Saitama (サイタマ), a superhero who has grown bored of all the action because he always wins so easily. He joins the Hero Association to gain more challenging battles but ends up assigned to be an underling for other heroes instead of being given any actual missions.

Saitama is the world’s strongest hero and won the title after he defeated The Deep Sea King. He is so strong that only one punch or kick from him can cause an opponent to burst into laughter, hence his nickname “One Punch Man.”
