Laurence Fishburne swears he is not in “Matrix 4”!

“I’m not Laurence Fishburne!” Laurence Fishburne, in his latest interview with the Hollywood Reporter, swears he is not Laurence Fishburne. “There are a lot of Laurences out there,” he says. The star of Matrix 1-3 and Othello has been approached about appearing in Matrix 4 as well as playing Morpheus again, but Laurence denies both roles. For now, the fourth part of the franchise remains without Laurence’s involvement.

He has been approached about being in Matrix and playing Morpheus but isn’t interested at this time due to other commitments (possibly his work with Hannibal). He was also asked to be involved with matrix four but doesn’t want it yet because they haven’t come up with the idea that excites him enough yet for it. Laurence Fishburne as Morpheus? Laurence denies both roles. For now, the fourth part of the franchise remains without Laurence’s involvement.

With Laurence Fishburne and Keanu Reeves being out of the Matrix, who will play Neo in matrix four? Laurence says he’s not sure when it’ll come out. It could be put on hold indefinitely. Because Laurence’s roles as Morpheus or Neo; have been filled by other actors for now. Ed Wasser; played Morpheus in The Animatrix: Program 00 – World Record (2003) and Jada Pinkett Smith; played Trinity in the sequels to Reloaded/Revolutions; released straight-to-DVD from 2003 through 2007. Laurence Fishburne is still interested in returning to his role. As Morpheus at some point but has no idea if that would be possible after all these years with a new actor playing him already. Laurence’s Only involvement with Matrix

Laurence’s only involvement with the Matrix franchise now is voiceovers of Morpheus for The Animatrix: Program 00 – World Record (2003), which includes a deleted scene where Laurence speaks to Neo, and Trinity in “Enter the Matrix” (2004) in two scenes with Laurence speaking: one downloaded by players into their game console memory card before playing it, “The Duel” level; other downloadable onto PC hard drive since this type of game requires more than DVD player storage capacity.”

He has also voiced Morpheus for the PC game Enter The Matrix, released in 2004.

In Laurence’s newest movie project, he plays a retired boxer-turned-actor who takes on one last role as an actor before settling into retirement: “The Fighter” (2010).

“You know how some people say they’re going to retire, but then you never hear from them again? That ain’t me.” Laurence Fishburne is not retiring anytime soon!

Matrix 4 Release Date

The movie is set to release in 2021, although an official and confirmed date is yet to be announced. However, the shooting for the film has already come to an end so we can expect to see our favourite stars on the big screen by the end of this year.

Matrix 4 Plot Details

I would say, don’t believe it until you see it.” He also added that the Wachowskis are “working on something.”

He has a message for fans of The Matrix and says, “‘There may be another story with these characters that’s actually what we’re exploring.’” Laurence Fishburne will always be Morpheus to me!

His starring film roles have included three Sidney Poitier films made between 1989 and 1995; Talkin’ Dirty After Dark (1991), Father Hood (1993), and In My Father’s House (1995). His most recent film roles include Laurence Fishburne’s portrayal of arch-villain Bill Foster/Goliath in the 2013 film, Thor: The Dark World and co-starring with Samuel L. Jackson in the 2014 remake of RoboCop.
