“How I Met Your Mother” Spinoff series Starring Chris Lowell

The CBS sitcom “How I Met Your Mother” is coming to an end this year, but a spinoff series starring Chris Lowell will be on the way!

Chris Lowell was seen in season nine of HIMYM as Zoey’s eventual husband. He played the guitar and sang at her wedding reception, which made him quite popular with viewers. There are not many details about what will happen in the new series, but we do know that it will be set five years after where Season 9 left off.

About the Starring Chris Lowell in HIMYM!

Earlier this year, Variety reported that the producers of How I Met Your Mother was looking to create a spin-off series starring popular character Chris Lowell. The show is scheduled for release in 2023 and will be available on CBS All Access with new episodes monthly. It’s unclear whether or not Ted Mosby (played by Josh Radnor) will appear in the new show; however, it has been confirmed that Alyson Hannigan and Bob Saget are both expected to have cameos in Season One.

The original HIMYM premiered back in 2005 as an instant hit with viewers who tuned in to watch each week while it aired live on television at a prime time every Monday night. This was before streaming services like Netflix existed, so viewers had to either watch it live or wait for the DVDs. Fans of HIMYM loved Ted’s witty ways, his continuous search for “The One,” and the love story between him and Robin Scherbatsky (Alyson Hannigan) that would eventually end up being one of TV’s most iconic romances.

Most people have seen each episode at least once, if not more times than they can remember making it easy to binge-watch through all nine seasons over a weekend with friends who are just as obsessed as you are! That said, there is something about waiting every week on Monday night, waiting patiently by your television set like an excited child in anticipation of seeing what life has in store for our favorite group.

What did  Chris Lowell say on HIMYM?

HIMYM star Chris Lowell’s character, Kevin, was a sensitive guy who had never been able to snag the girl he wanted. That is until Robin (Cobie Smulders) showed up, and they started dating. The two dated for about six months before breaking up because of their differing views on kids-he wants them; she doesn’t. Though we haven’t seen any signs that they could be getting back together anytime soon, one thing it seems like they’ll always have in common is taking care of Ted’s son… wait for it…”Sonny!”

It turns out Sonny isn’t just some random name after all! In an episode when Marshall goes into space with NASA and Barney comes along as a safety inspector, he has to ask for a space name. When Barney asks him what his dad’s name is, Marshall replies that it’s “Sonny.”

Now for the big question: who does Sonny look like?

Well, Robin was blond before she dyed her hair red, and they’ve always told us how much Ted loves blonds. So in all likelihood, I’d say this kid looks just like daddy!

What can we expect more!

We’ll have to wait and see, but I’m betting this kid will be just as awesome. It’s going to be a race between Barney trying to corrupt him with all his schemes and Marshall keeping him on the straight and narrow.

The only thing we know for sure is that at one point, Ted has advocated being “a dad,” which means there might still be hope in store for Sonny!
