Vin Diesel Reveals Role in Avatar 2 and Answers All Your Questions

Avatar 2

For the past few years, Vin Diesel has been teasing that he will be in Avatar 2. Finally, we have our answer as to what his role is, and now it’s time to speculate on how big of a part he’ll play in the film. This post also answers many other questions you may have about this highly anticipated sequel.

Vin Diesel Reveals Role in Avatar 2:

In an interview with MTV, Vin Diesel finally revealed his role in Avatar. He’ll be playing a human who has been “an avatar for the past ten years” and is now reintegrating into society.

What makes this character special is that he’s not from Pandora. This means he will probably have limited access to certain things like flight or water bending but can return to Earth whenever needed because of the portal found at Camp Jupiter near Colorado Springs, where they first discovered the Navi people on their home planet. The portal was created by Dr. Grace Augustine (Sigourney Weaver) who had also been working as an avatar before her death which occurred during the events of Avatar: The Last Airbender when she sacrificed herself to save the Navi people from imminent extinction.

His character has been on Pandora for a decade, so he’ll know how life is there now as opposed to when they arrived in 2020, but it’s said his appearance is “supposedly not going to change too much” because of his time spent there since then.

The world premiere took place last week during Comic-Con International 2018 with director James Cameron hosting the event screening along with cast members Jake Skywalker (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana), as well as producer Jon Landau, writer Josh Friedman, composer James Horner, and Weta Digital visual effects supervisor Joe Letteri.

This was the first time attendees have been able to see a completed film in 2020 with over 100% of their original vision intact since they were only given 20 years during production for the 2009 movie Avatar, which is also why this sequel has taken so long to come out.

What can we expect from the “Vin Diesel” role?

Vin Diesel is playing a character named “Batari,” and he said that they were shooting the scenes in performance capture. He has been working with them for the past three weeks to shoot his role and had only seen about 20 minutes of footage so far as Cameron would be editing on an iPad, which was interesting because of how small it was.

We may see more characters from Avatar (2009) return, including Sam Worthington, who played Jake Skywalker, or Zoe Saldana, who played Neytiri, but nothing is confirmed yet as filming continues.

The trailer shown during Comic-Con showed off some things like new vehicles such as aircraft that looked human-made instead of robotic that can fly through the air at fast speeds.

The trailer also showed off some of the new Pandora scenery with an increase in vegetation and water.

And even though many questions remain, we’re happy to say Vin Diesel has answered all our burning ones!

Vin Diesel told about his role and gave Answers All Your Questions:

Few people can keep a secret like an actor and director Vin Diesel when it comes to his work on James Cameron’s upcoming sequel to 2009s blockbuster hit Avatar. But now, he is revealing all about what he has been doing for the past three weeks, shooting scenes as Batari, a character who will be featured on Pandora’s moon.

“As a new character Batari, I am introduced to the first time, and as you know Pandora is now home to some Earthlings or humans who are living on the continent of Africa in 2040, not too long from now,” he tells Entertainment Weekly for its latest issue (on stands Friday). “And so there’s been this sort of clash between these two worlds: those Na’vi that live on Pandora but also have human DNA mixed with them because they’ve come back here after being away and then all these other people coming in. There’s kind of this cultural clash happening which created conflict within each group.”

He continues by saying, “In my scene, we were at an airfield, and my character came in and said, ‘What is this? What are you guys up to here?’ And it escalates from there. I was just trying to be a voice of reason.”
