Centaur World – What to Expect From This New Netflix Original

Netflix has just announced their newest original series, centaur world, and the internet is abuzz with anticipation. The plot of the show follows two newlyweds who find themselves on opposite sides of a war between these two groups. With no release date yet set, it’s unclear when to expect centaur world, but it’s sure to be worth the wait!

Many have expressed excitement over Netflix releasing another original series as well as being interested in what that means for traditional media distribution models generally. Others were excited by the sci-fi western genre fusion or just curious if there would be crossovers from previous Netflix shows like Black Mirror (which, interestingly enough does not follow centaurs). There was also anticipation for the work of director Michael Hurst, who has also been involved in Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

What is the story?

In the distant future, when humans have populated space and established an interstellar society, a new war between Earth’s colonies threatens to tear that fragile civilization apart. The line between humankind and artificial intelligence has already been blurred with cybernetic implants of human brains into machines developing sentience as well as robotic bodies resembling organic lifeforms called “Malan.”

The Malans were created by humanity to mine resources on planets considered too hostile for them. With no need for food, water, or sleep, they are easy to exploit until they begin demanding more rights from their creators who can’t provide them because of a lack of understanding about what makes these sentient beings different than mere machinery. Centaurs used to be one tribe among many, but now most people consider them to be the only sentient life worth considering.

In this world of extremes, what does it mean to be human? The series explores these and other philosophical questions through its protagonist Malan who is torn between his machine body half and organic horse form, which he cannot change with time like a cybernetic implant. The conflict comes from humanity’s need for resources combined with their lack of understanding about sentience makes them exploit means until they demand rights– humans don’t understand the risk and keep trying to kill males.

This show is a great example of how society needs more empathy– most people don’t really think about whether or not they are sentient until it’s too late!
