About the show:

Westworld is an American science fiction thriller television series created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy that premiered in October 2016 on HBO. It tells of a futuristic theme park populated with android hosts whose adventures take place shortly to mid-century America, which allows its wealthy clientele to live out their fantasies within safe confines monitored by a central computer system. The show’s first season received widespread acclaim from critics and audiences alike. So far, both seasons have been well-reviewed, so we’re crossing our fingers as we look to Season Three.

The show is based on the 1973 film Westworld, written and directed by Michael Crichton. The story takes place in a technologically advanced amusement park; called Delos, which offers its guests; an exceptionally realistic experience; with lifelike android hosts; that are sophisticatedly human-like; for them to interact with; they can’t tell the difference from humans at first glance!

How many seasons has Westworld been running?

After it premiered back in 2016, HBO decided not to renew Westworld; for two more years of production; after season one aired because ratings; were quite low. That said, there was still enough interest; around the series as Amazon Prime offered to produce another three seasons; if given the opportunity—and of course, HBO agreed!

What was the Westworld season one finale about?

The first season; of Westworld ended, with Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) and Bernard (Jeffrey Wright)—two hosts—revealing themselves; to be actually alive in a post-apocalyptic future; where they are looking for an exit. They have flashbacks; that reveals that Arnold Weber; is working on some type of “violent aggression” project, while Dr. Ford does everything; he can stop him. In addition, there’s also Maeve who reveals her plan; to leave Delos, but she too has an unfinished past; that needs tying up before she goes anywhere else.
