Sword Art Online Season 4: Know the Epic Cast, Plot, and More!

Sword Art Online

Sword Art Online is one of the most popular anime series to date. It’s so popular, in fact, that it’s been green-lit for a fourth season! The wait has been excruciatingly long and difficult for many fans, so I’m sure you’re dying to find out more about Season 4 as soon as possible. Don’t worry; we’ve got all the information on this epic new season right here!

What are some returning cast members?

Kirito, Eugeo, Alice (new), Asuna-Yuki Kishinami

And what about new ones?

Frenzy Warrior, Ronye Arabel, Alicia Ruello, in addition to original characters for Underworld’s system called “The Creator,” Gabriel Miller/Alice Wieland, and «Laughing Coffin» member Red Rider. And new character Sakuya Togo!

will it be continued or not?

The Alicization arc is a three-part arc, and this season adapts up to volume 18 of the light novel series. It’s about Kirito getting trapped into another virtual gaming world called “Underworld” by an NPC named Alice, who claims that she will help him get out if he can beat her in combat 100 times in 200 hours. The problem is, after every battle with Alice, they both forget what just happened due to their memories being erased before waking up back at level one for them to start anew. This time around, though, it seems like something from his past isn’t letting go of him, and it could be the key to getting out of this world.

What are the major changes that await Season Four?

Kirito’s character in the novels is a lot more different than his appearance and personality in Sword Art Online. The first two arcs of the Alicization Arc are much darker, too, with Kirito being at times so unlikeable as well because he does some terrible things to get what he needs. When it comes to this season, though, there will be no change from previous seasons insofar as their depictions of Kirito’s behavior and characteristics. He’ll still be likable despite doing those bad things, which should make for an interesting take on adapting volume 18 – 23, where we see how deep into the darkness he goes before finally coming back out again.

What kind of plot can people expect from Season Four?

The Alicization arc is the longest in the series, with 17 volumes of content. The novel follows Kirito as he enters a new virtual world called Underworld, where he’s met by Quinella, who offers him a quest to help her find out what happened to her memories and why she can’t log out from this world even though it should be impossible.

The plot will follow on from Season Three, which was based on volumes 16-17, so there’ll be some really major turning points that happen early on, not just for one character but several key players that we haven’t seen before either. There are also going to be important revelations about Yui – like how she came to exist or what exactly Sword Art Online does when people die.

What’s happened to Kirito’s brother and what his relationship with Asuna is like are some of the big questions that we’ll be following upon.

Kazuto Kirigaya (aka Kirito) has lost almost everything: His friends, family, girlfriend – but when he learns about a new virtual game called Sword Art Online that promises its players an in-game marriage for those who want it, Kazuto decides to get back at all the people who wronged him by taking them down from within their own system. But behind this revenge plot lies more than one dark truth!
