Kim’s Convenience: Spinoff “Strays” – What we know so far!

Kim

The Canadian sitcom “Kim’s Convenience” has been a great success, and now there is a spinoff in the works. The show will be called “Strays.” It will follow the lives of two new characters who work at Kim’s convenience store. We are excited to see what this show has in store for us!

Kim’s Convenience Renewal Status and Release Date Updates:

CBC Television cancelled Kim’s Convenience in March 2021. After five seasons, the show ended not because of poor ratings but rather because the co-creators moved on to other projects. Liu expressed his disappointment on Twitter, stating, “I’m heartbroken. I feel like my journey with Jung was cut short. I feel like you, the fans, deserved better. But I’m proud of all that we accomplished together in 5 seasons.”

The hit Canadian comedy series Kim’s Convenience returned for its fifth and now set to be final season on CBC in Canada and wasn’t made available on Netflix immediately; however, the wait is finally coming to an end with all episodes of the show set to hit Netflix in the US in June 2021. Here’s when season 5 of Kim’s Convenience will be on Netflix around the world.

Is Kim’s Convenience worth binge-watching?

Kim’s Convenience has been on my radar for a while now. The show is based around the daily lives of Korean Canadians running a convenience store in Toronto, and from what I can tell, it will be just as good – if not better than other comedies like Superstore or Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Where can I watch Kim’s Convenience?

Season one and two are available on Netflix US & Canada. However, you may need an account outside of your country first before logging in to any location that offers American TV shows (i.e., Amazon Prime). Seasons three through six are exclusively streaming at CBC Gem with no international availability currently. All seasons will also stream weekly on CBC.ca.

What’s so special about season three?

Season Three marks a significant change with actors from Fresh Off The Boat and Kim’s Convenience guest-starring on each other’s show! For those who are fans of both shows, you know how exciting that can potentially be. Beyond familiar faces popping up, this crossover event could create an opportunity for new episodes or even a spin-off series altogether!
