Kim’s Convenience Season 6 Story: What’s More To Show?

Kim’s Convenience season 5 is over and on a low-key note. Shannon and Kimchee all have dinner with the Kims at their home, and after bidding their guest goodnight, Mr. and Mrs. Kim closed the store, turned off the lights, and headed to bed. The finale definitely has an air of finality to it yet still leaves room for stories to unfold.

One of the biggest storylines left unresolved was Jung’s relationship with Appa, which has been complicated and difficult to heal. After being put in juvenile hall and exchanging words with his father, Jung left the Kim convenience store for many years and did not speak to him.

Season five ends with Jung and Appa forging a tentative peace, and it’s even suggested that Jung could take over the store when Mr. and Mrs. Kim retire. As per tradition in Korea, children cannot own their parents’ company until they reach retirement age, but it’s unclear what sector of society Jung wants to work in instead.
