The Plot of “The Kominsky” Season 3:

This may or may not surprise you, but I’m going to say that this season wasn’t for me. It’s hard enough; being one person; trying to juggle; so many responsibilities, let alone; when your whole world; revolves around how busy; you are. There were some moments; where I found myself laughing. And enjoying the show, but I fell asleep within minutes; of those moments and found myself fighting off sleep; for so long that it was a chore; to watch. The Kominsky Season is worth watching; if you enjoy this style of comedy; or are just looking for something mindless; with not much substance.

The Cast:

Michael Douglas is amazing, as the titular character. His portrayal of Sandy; has matured and grown; with a sense of humour; that still makes me laugh out loud, but he’s also aged; in real life, which lends; an authenticity to his performance; that cannot be achieved by someone; who doesn’t know what it means to be old or retired. He plays off some really strong supporting actors, including Nancy Travis, Connie Britton, Amanda Peet, and more. My absolute favourite new cast member this season was Justin Bartha as Eddie, whom I found hilarious before he left to go on tour (I’m sorry for getting personal!). If you’re looking at coming back for another round, then I would say, “yay!” But if you’re not, then “nay!”

About the show:

The Kominsky Season is a Netflix Original Series. This season follows Sandy on his journey to learn how to be retired after decades of being an actor and lover. It’s witty with some great supporting actors that make the show even funnier than before!

Now, this isn’t my favourite series or one I would have picked up in years past because it doesn’t grab me as previous seasons did, but if you liked the first two seasons, then there will be something here for you too! – If anything, Michael Douglas steals the show as he plays out each aspect of retirement, from finding new hobbies to understanding family members who never seem to grow old themselves. He’s hilarious and still a powerhouse in the industry.

The Kominsky Season is a show that’s going to make you laugh and feel for these characters, which I think was always what they were aiming for! – With jokes about how there are no good roles left because of social media (in my opinion), this season gives us new material with some more well-known celebrities, but it also reminds me why I loved the old seasons so much–which leads me to believe that if we get another two seasons, then maybe Michael Douglas will finally be able to retire?

Reviews and Ratings for Season 3 of “The Kominsky”:

Best episode: “The Big House” in my opinion. It had great one-liners from both stars, and while this certainly wasn’t the best overall season as far as writing goes, it really feels like an ending of sorts.

Worst Episode: “The Nursery” was my least favourite episode, with a lot of the jokes feeling forced and repetitive because they have to be about how funny it is that this show has been on for so long. I guess if you’re new to The Kominsky’s, then maybe this would make more sense, but as someone who knows what it’s like when actors start running out of material–I didn’t find too many laughs in these episodes…

Overall rating from me? A mixed review! While there are certainly some really great moments (and maybe even one or two bad ones), this season left me wanting something different than just another comedy series without any real stakes other than the comedy of it all.

The season finale was the perfect example. Now, I’ll admit that there were a few moments in this episode when laughter caught me by surprise, but for the most part, my reaction to everything was just “yeah… OK.” This is what happens when you don’t have anyone’s life on the line and are left with nothing other than jokes about how old everyone has gotten or how much time they still spend at work.
