The series is based on the 2002 novel of the same name written by Kristin Hannah. In this latest instalment, both main characters, Tully McPhee (played by Olivia Wilde) and Eliza Mirk (played by Kerris Dorsey), are now living together; as adults in New York City with their respective families. There they get to figure out what role they want to play; as mothers while also navigating difficult terrain; when it comes to romantic relationships and careers.

This season is going to be really different from the first one.
