They were intended to be used as tools .to assist Gil-galad. High King of the Noldorin Elves, in his war against Sauron. However, Sauron was aware of their existence and he desired them for himself. Sauron created the One Ring to control the other Rings of Power .and enslave their wearers. He then launched an attack on Eregion, destroyed the city.  And took Celebrimbor prisoner. The Elf-smith was tortured by Sauron. n an effort to learn the location of the Three Rings of the Elves .

Robert Aramayo portrays a young Elrond, while Morfydd Clark portrays Galadriel as a young woman. Lily Collins plays an older version of Galadriel. Ian McKellen reprises his role as Gandalf from The Hobbit films.  And Martin Freeman returns as Bilbo Baggins .
