Euphoria is a coming of age series that follows the stories of high school students .  As they come up against the harsh realities of growing up in modern-day America.  By way of experimenting with drugs, sexuality, money and social media. The show takes viewers on a journey with four high school students  . Who are drawn into navigating life as part of an unexpected outcast family. There isn’t one singular narrative in this series . But rather each episode focuses on a different character’s point-of-view  .  As they experience these personal battles.

What is the plot of the story ?

The story begins with the first generation of an African American family in Atlanta, GA. The main characters are Nik (played by Justin Hartley) and his two sisters, Lyla (played by Emma Roberts) and Kianna (played by Bella Thorne). The group lives in a two-story house in the suburbs that they inherited from their parents. They’re currently struggling to make ends meet . And the girls’ father has committed himself to an institution for treatment for drug addiction.

Who is in the cast ? What role did each character portray ?

The cast include Zendaya , Sydney Sweeney , Jacob Elordi , Maude Apatow , Billie Lourd , Brian “Astro” Bradley, Nika King, Storm Reid, Hunter Schafer and Algee Smith . Zendaya portrayed the role of drug-obsessed pharmacist named Holly, Sydney Sweeney played Lyla, the oldest of the three siblings and Emma Roberts played Kianna, the youngest of the group. Jacob Elordi played Nik. Maude Apatow , Billie Lourd , Brian “Astro” Bradley and Nika King portrayed the role of Nathan . Storm Reid , Hunter Schafer .  And Algee Smith played the role of Alexa .

What are the difficulties they face ?

The story follows the lives of four high school students on their personal journey  . As they navigate their new identities. They navigate a confusing world filled with social media and  also morality. Each episode focuses on a different character’s point of view, creating a genuine sense of empathy for where each individual is at in their own personal growth. The series touches on a variety of different themes including identity, gender, body image, and also mental health. These themes are intertwined in the storylines of the four high school students .  Who are navigating life as part of an unexpected outcast family.

Who is the antagonist ? What are its motives ?

The antagonist in the story is a drug-addicted pharmacist named Holly who is obsessed with her own supply of oxycodone. Holly’s addiction is a driving force through the series, but more than that, it speaks to a larger issue within society, which is feeding into the portrayal of narcissism. The issue revolves around people’s insatiable need for drugs and their inability to see that they’re not alone in their struggle. The main characters in the series are Nik and his two sisters, Lyla and Kianna. The four high school students take different paths to navigate their issues .  And seek help for their own individual struggles.

Who is the most loved character ?

Holly, played by Zendaya, is the most loved character in the story. She is the self-proclaimed queen of her former high school and usually dresses in all black attire. Her character drives the series forward by supplying prescription drugs to the drug-seeking students at school.
Nathan, portrayed by Jacob Lonely, is the most hated character. He’s a mean guy .  Who has no sympathy for anyone around him .  And even threatens to physically hurt others on occasion. This leads to him being disliked by everyone around him including students at school and his family members as well.
