Captain Marvel 2: Park Seo-Joon

Brie Larson is back as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most powerful hero with Captain Marvel 2! South Korean actor Park Seo-Joon’s talent agency officially confirms the actor’s involvement in Nia DaCosta’s upcoming MCU film The Marvels. What are you looking forward to seeing in this film?

Park Seo-Joon To Join MCU’s, Captain Marvel:

According to his management, Parasite star Park Seo-Joon has been confirmed as a member of Marvel Studios’ The Marvels cast. According to rumors that began circulating several months ago but were yet unconfirmed until now, the South Korean actor will be involved with the film.

The sequel will continue the story of Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), who first appeared in 2019’s Captain Marvel, as well as Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), both of whom were introduced in the MCU.

Park Ho-sun is one of the most well-known actors in South Korea today. Park Ho-sun is best recognized to English-speaking audiences for his role as Min, the English tutor who initially lends Ki-Woo his tutoring job, which serves as the film’s inciting incident.

Park has also expanded his brand into other industries, such as fashion and cosmetics, where he is known for his distinctive style. However, Park is well-known in Korea for his work in a variety of Korean dramas as well as for many sponsorship deals that plaster the actor’s face across the country. Now it appears that the actor will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to Naver News (via The Seoul Story), Park’s talent agency Awesome Entertainment has confirmed that the actor has departed South Korea to work on The Marvels. Park’s exact role in the film, on the other hand, is still a secret. “For now, we are unable to disclose any further information,” the agency stated.

Take a look at the following statement:

After Park’s casting was announced, many fans started speculating about who he would play in the film. Amadeus Cho is one of the first characters to spring to mind when it comes to Marvel Comics characters of Korean heritage.

The Totally Awesome Hulk is a new Marvel character who takes up the title after obtaining Bruce Banner’s gamma-radiated abilities. Helen Cho (Claudia Kim), his mother, was previously introduced to the MCU in 2015’s Age of Ultron. Given Kim’s younger age (and Park’s relatively older one), it is unlikely that he will be able to play her son in the film.

Regardless of who Park will play in The Marvels, it’s great to see more South Korean actors join the MCU. Claudia Kim was the first, with Ma Dong-Seok (a.k.a. Don Lee) playing Gilgamesh in Chloé Zhao’s upcoming Eternals as Train to Busan’s protagonist and hero of its passengers.

Marvel Studios’ global reach allows it to draw acting talent from all corners of the globe, rather than relying on the same pool of celebrities that have become standard in Hollywood. It’s about time Disney took advantage of this chance.
