Emily VanCamp To Exit “The Resident Season 5” – Let Us Know Why?

The Resident Season 5 is coming to a close with Emily VanCamp’s Emily Nicolson character leaving the show. Emily Nicolson has been on The Resident since its premiere in September 2017 and was one of the key characters. She had a lot of storylines that were covered throughout her time on the series, but she’ll be exiting it soon.

Emily VanCamp will exit The Resident Season 5, which premieres in 2021-22.

About the Show “The Resident Season 5”

On the show, Emily VanCamp is playing Emily Nicholson, who gets a job at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital. She starts as an intern on The Resident Season one and works her way up from there.

She’ll be exiting in season five of “The Resident” series, which will premiere next year (2021/22).

One thing that fans would like to know is why she decided it was time for Emily Nicholson’s character to leave? Her caption read: With sadness, I must let you guys know that my beloved character Emily has been written off resident. After much thought and deliberation, I made the extremely difficult decision not to return to the show this coming season.

Why Is Emily VanCamp Leaving The Resident before Season 5?

The main reason that Emily decided it was time for Emily’s character to leave; is unknown, but fans are speculating there could be a few different reasons; why she might want out of Chastain Park Memorial Hospital? Some think maybe her character became too boring or predictable, while others believe Emily may have been unhappy with how her character worked on the hospital team? What do you guys think???

Emily’s character in The Resident starts as a doctor and then becomes an attending physician but right now, Emily VanCamp has been playing Emily for several seasons, so she may be thinking about taking time off to be a full-time mommy?

Release Date for “The Resident” Season 5

Season 5 of The Resident is set to release on 21st September 2021. Emily VanCamp will NOT be returning to The Resident Emily’s character is set to resign from the hospital and move away.

Emily VanCamp, best known for her roles in TV series like Everwood (2002) & Revenge (2011), has had a great run on Fox’s “The Resident,” but sadly, she will not be seen again as Emily after season five of the show. She announced that she would no longer play Emily on “The Resident” Season Five via Instagram with an emotional post saying what an amazing journey it was playing Emily Thorne, aka Emily Drake, aka Dr. Charlotte Piel. We don’t know who else will leave or return yet, but we do know that they have some major changes planned!
