In 1990, Beverly 1987 saw the release of Beverly Hill III with Chris Rock starring as Axel Foley’s son Mikey for this installment despite not being in either of the first two films.

In September 2015, it was announced that Beverly Hills Cop would be receiving a fourth installment with both Paramount Pictures and Sony Pictures Entertainment co-producing and distributing (via Columbia).

Beverly Hills Cop 4 Release Date Assumptions

The Beverly Hills Cop sequel has been confirmed for a 2022 release, but an exact date is yet to be announced.

Beverly Hill Cop was originally set to come out in March 2016, with the reported start of production happening on January 24th and filming continuing until April 16th. However, this plan changed when it was later decided that pre-production would begin earlier so as not to clash with Will Smith’s schedule, who had signed on as one of the film’s producers in October.

The Beverly Hills Cop sequel is set to follow Axel Foley’s son, as he returns from the military and Beverly Hills police detective Eddie Sullivan Jr., now in his 40s. The film has been described as a continuation of Beverly Hill Cop II.

Will there be any plot twists in the movie?

A Beverly Hills Cop sequel might be interesting; if it’s set in the future, with Axel Foley Jr. as a Beverly Hills police detective, who is sent back to Beverly Hills by his father. And has to deal with gang violence that he has previously experienced firsthand while serving abroad in Afghanistan or Iraq. This would also allow for some exploration of municipal corruption at the same time since Detroit was shown as being run down and wracked by gangs earlier this year.
