What’s The Release Date of Amazon’s I Know What You Did Last Summer?
One of the best coming-of-age slasher movies from the ’90s is finally getting a reboot as Amazon Prime Video will air Lois Duncan’s I Know What You Did Last Summer on Friday, Oct. 15 at midnight EST.
Latest Details:
The eight-episode series is from writer Sara Goodman and follows a group of teenagers one year after their graduation night ended with a fatal accident.
With a dark secret and an unknown killer stalking them, two friends are determined to find out what’s going on. In this novel, a tight-knit suburban neighborhood reveals its dark side when each family member begins to uncover the truth about one another.
Amazon has unveiled the first images of their new original show “I Know What You Did Last Summer” through a live stream celebrating their partnership with Sony Pictures Television. Sony Pictures originally released the movie in 1997 and starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze Jr., and Ryan Phillippe.
This time, Madison Iseman leads a talented cast comprised of Brianne Tju, Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore, Sebastian Amoruso, Fiona Rene, Cassie Beck, Brooke Bloom, and Bill Heck.

Other Important Updates
Goodman Executive Produces with Neal M. Moritz, Anna Pavun Shetty of Original Film and James Wan, Michael Clear and Rob Hackett of Atomic Monster, as well as Erik Feig, Peter Guber, Craig W. Macneill, and Shay Hatten.
The show’s first four episodes, I Know What You Did Last Summer, will be released on Oct. 15, with new episodes available every following Friday until the season finale on Nov. 12.
Early reviews of the newest installment in the summer horror franchise are not encouraging, but I am willing to give it a chance based on nostalgia for the original film.
Let’s hope the new soundtrack brings some heat because the first one had tracks from Hula Shaker, Our Lady Peace, Toad the Wet Sprocket, and Hooverphonic.
