Gunpowder Milkshake 2: Production In Development For The Sequel

Netflix has ordered a sequel to the forthcoming film ‘Gunpowder Milkshake’ from StudioCanal. The sequel to Gunpowder Milkshake has been announced! Production for the film is currently in development, and it will be coming out next year. The original was a huge success, so we can’t wait to see what they have planned for this one. StudioCanal is already developing a sequel to the forthcoming Gunpowder Milkshake. The film follows Sam, a hitwoman who is tasked with taking out an 8-year old girl. After she finds the child, it becomes clear that the girl is doomed from the start, and so Sam takes her in for protection instead of killing her.

The hitwoman struggles with saving the girl and, not wanting to dwell on her past, approaches Scarlet, a professional assassin who was forced to leave her daughter when she was young.

In a similar vein to Warner Bros.’ strategy this year, StudioCanal has chosen to first sell the North American theatrical rights to Netflix and then release the movie in other regions with traditional distribution channels. With just one week left until the film’s release, it appears that StudioCanal has bigger plans for The Gunpowder Milkshake 2 than were previously planned.

This week marks the start of the Cannes Film Festival, happening all over France. In honor of both occasions, the studio revealed several upcoming projects in development for the near future, including a sequel to Gunpowder Milkshake. No confirmation was given about who may return for the sequel.

Following the success of John Wick, many studios are building franchises with expansive worlds for future endeavors. Though reviews haven’t yet rolled out for the first film, reviews point toward live-in worlds full of room for expansion.

Considering the absence of her daughter and the time she worked with hitwoman sidekicks, there could be more than one story in development.

However, it is also possible for Sam to survive the events of Gunpowder Milkshake and move onto a new adventure. Gillan would have the opportunity to explore and take on other roles if she were able to accept this one. Once Extraction is released on Netflix next week, more details about this future possibility will be revealed.
