Production on Bridgerton season 2 has resumed after a two-month halt due to the pandemic. Showrunner Chris Van Dusen told Variety, “We are back underway. We had to delay because of COVID, but we’re back in it.”

“Right now I’m in the post, editing our first couple episodes of which are looking great,” he added, noting that filming commenced last week and will resume this month.

Due to the second COVID-19 case on set, filming was suspended. The show is one of many projects that have been disrupted by the virus. Bridgerton Season 2 will focus on youngest son Anthony Bridgerton and his search for a match.

While dropping hints about the plot of the series, showrunner Chris stated, “We are following Anthony after he has been through a relationship with someone other than his spouse. He is now considering what it could have meant and debating if it was true love.”

As the studio knows that fans are eager for another season, Van Dusen said, “I think there’s always been a little bit of pressure with this show from the beginning, being inspired by beloved novels and fans who feel so passionate.”

For Knight, the pressure to churn out a season’s worth of quality episodes is always present. He welcomes the pressure and hopes that people love this season as much as they loved last year’s.
