FX has confirmed that there will be a third season, and we know that the vampire’s life is probably going to change following what happened at the end of season two. The series was renewed for a third season in May 2020. The season is set to premiere on September 2, 2021.

We do not know the release date of season three for the UK yet, but since both seasons have had a total of ten episodes, we can expect season three to be no different.

What We Do In The Shadows Season 3: Plot Synopsis

Throughout the season, Guillermo’s patience with his friend Nandor takes a toll. Despite saving Nandor’s life on many occasions and always promising to turn him into a vampire, Guillermo starts getting more impatient about turning him when he doesn’t want to cooperate.

Unknown to the vampires, Guillermo was killing vampire assassins. Ignoring them at first, the assassins continued trying to kill him, and Guillermo eventually revealed himself as a Van Helsing. The season three finale began with Guillermo leaving the Staten Island house for good, but the other vampires accepted his invitation to go to the Nouveau Théâtre des Vampires in Paris.

Colin, Laszlo, Nandor, and Nadja, the Central Park Four who were convicted of killing a vampire in season 1, were ambushed by the Vampiric Council. They sentenced them to death for killing Baron Afanas.

Guillermo realized it was a trap and went to the theater to save everyone, resulting in him killing pretty much every vampire there and revealing his skills as a child-killing a vampire.

The Vampiric Council will likely cause major problems to the shadowlands in season three. The upcoming episodes must also address the vampires’ reaction to the reveal that Guillermo is a vampire hunter.

Series creator Jemaine Clement didn’t give any hints as to what to expect in season three of “What We Do In The Shadows” because he won’t be involved in the writers’ room this time around. He also can’t comment on any cliffhangers that may pop up if he doesn’t know they exist!

He told Entertainment Weekly that he would be leaving the big problem for the family to solve. “I think it’s a good idea to end on a big cliffhanger,” said Dykstra, who noted how last season ended with his character in a similar position.
