The Black Panther 2 has begun production in Atlanta! This is great news for fans of the Marvel franchise. The Black Panther was one of this year’s top-grossing films, and the sequel will be following suit with a lot more action and adventure. The Black Panther 2 will follow T’Challa as he defends his kingdom against enemies and threats from within and without. It stars Michael B Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett (as Ramonda), Forest Whitaker (as Zuri) along with Andy Serkis as Ulysses Klaue.”

Black Panther Production begins in Atlanta!

This is great news for fans of the Marvel franchise who are eager to see what happens next after Black panther became a box office hit over the last few weeks! We critics can’t help but speculate about Black panther’s next big move, with some speculating that Black Panther will go full-on superhero and others thinking it might be a Black Panther/Avengers crossover!

The state-of-the-art Pinewood Atlanta Studios is where production begins this June, according to Variety (Variety). The first film was filmed primarily in Canada and California – locations are still pending as filming starts soon.

Shortly after Black Panther’s release on Blu-ray, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige spoke about the possibility of Black Panther coming back in Black panther II?

“We always say we work on one movie at a time.” said Feige when asked if Black Panther could return for “Black panther II?” Production will begin this July in Atlanta! So it looks like the answer to that question might be yes!

Black Panther 2 Release Date

It is not yet confirmed when Black Panther will be released to the public. We can only hope that it will be sooner than July 2022, which would mean Black Panther and Black panther II filming might overlap.

We’re waiting for an official announcement from Marvel Studios or Black Panther production team!

Black Panther 2 Potential Storyline

This Black Panther sequel is set to take place two years after the events of Captain America: Civil War. The plot for Black Panther was only hinted; at in last year’s film, which left fans wondering; whether or not this new movie would touch on T’Challa (a.k.a., Black Panther) becoming king of Wakanda; following his father’s death; from ritual combat; during an uprising led by Ulysses Klawe, one of the most dangerous adversaries; in all Marvel comics history.

Black Panther director Ryan Coogler; said during the Black Lives Matter riots in 2016, “I think it’s really important; that Black Panther comes out. And it is a big hit. I have to believe we can do this for our people.”

The Black Panther sequel will see T’Challa returning home from America after he was framed by Klawe for stealing Wakanda’s supply of Vibranium – which turned him into an international criminal. The king wants revenge and justice against Killmonger (Michael B Jordan), so he’ll be enlisting help from other Marvel heroes like Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Misty Knight (Simone Missick). Black Panther has now returned home as well, but his country has been destroyed, and his enemies are waiting.

Cast and Characters for Black Panther 2

After the sudden departure of Chadwick Boseman, we are not sure who will be playing Black Panther in the movie sequel, but it is most likely to be Letitia Wright, aka Shuri. The other stars confirmed for the 2nd installment of Black Panther are:

  • Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o)
  • Erik Killmonge(Micheal Jai White)

I’m not sure what the requirements are for the Black Panthers sequel yet, but it seems like Marvel Studios might have finally found their footing, and they’ll continue to take over Hollywood one movie at a time. The Black Panther production team has now begun its journey from Atlanta, Georgia, on April 22nd, 2021. They’re going to need some more actors, though, as Chadwick Boseman won’t be back (the actor who played T’Challa, aka Black Panther).
