The Jack Ryan series is back for a third season on Amazon Prime. The first two seasons were based on the Tom Clancy novels, but this time around, they are drawing from other sources like John Krasinski’s film and Paramount Pictures’ movie franchise. Jack Ryan season 3 does not yet have an official release date, but the third season will likely premiere in the fall. The first two seasons of the show premiered in September and August, respectively.

Given the release date – originally scheduled for 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic but likely delayed until 2021 or 2022 – Season 3 is unlikely, but there is a chance for a fourth season.

Jack Ryan Season 3 Cast Details:

Deadline reports that Marianne Jean-Baptiste (Blindspot) will play Elizabeth Wright, a CIA Chief of Station, on Season 3 of Jack Ryan.

When a terrorist event occurs in Russia, ex-Marine and CIA analyst Jack Ryan track the finances of the organization to find out their next targets.

Michael Kelly, Noomi Rapace, Jovan Adepo, Jordi Molla, and Cristina Umaña will join Jack Ryan’s cast in season 3. Of this group, Kelly and Adepo seem most likely to stay aboard for at least a third season.

One thing that remains to be seen is whether season 1 love interest Cathy Muller, played by Abbie Cornish, re-enters the series.

Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan series of novels are written from the point of view of Neil J. Collins, an agent with the CIA’s Central Intelligence Agency portrayed as a former Marine officer who retires to become a middle school teacher in Los Angeles and becomes re-activated after 9/11.

The character Jack Ryan has been portrayed in five movies by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, and Chris Pine.  The player John Krasinski joined that fraternity with the first season and is now the longest-standing actor in the series.

It will be interesting to see where the series goes for season 3. Jack Ryan has dealt with domestic threats and a corrupt Venezuelan election in the first two seasons. Changing focus and setting could be an option, or another storyline that incorporates these aspects can still be pursued.
