The CW has released; new clips from Stargirl’s upcoming sophomore series. That will follow DC Comics’ Courtney Whitmore; as she continues to fight crime; with her team, The Justice Society Of America. While also juggling life as a high school student. It was announced during San Diego Comic-Con that Stargirl would be returning for its second season – but fans were given their first look at the new series in a trailer that aired on Tuesday night.

“I don’t think Stargirl has any idea she’s been thrust into this world of superheroes, and it’s going to be an interesting journey for her through season two as she starts discovering more about herself,” said Melissa Benoist who plays Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl during SDCC interview with Syfy Wire. “But I’m not sure how comfortable or confident she is feeling right now.”

Previously, showrunner Geoff Johns promised fans would see some changes from last year – including G’nort appearing less frequently while The Justice Society Of America will take up more of the spotlight. In fact, Stargirl won’t even meet Wonder Woman.

Why is Stargirl popular for its villains?

Fans are excited for Stargirl season two because the villains are finally revealed! The first look at our new antagonists was shown at SDCC. We don’t know a lot about them, but their name is “Aries” and they have telekinetic abilities that allow them to control matter using only their minds.

It’s unclear how Stargirl will deal with these baddies in her own show when she can’t even get through an interview without slouching or forgetting what day it is – but we’re sure Benoist has something up her sleeve for another hit superhero series.

Plot Summary for “Stargirl Season 2”

The first trailer to Stargirl season two is out! It’s been a long wait for the DC Universe show that follows high school student Courtney Whitmore as she becomes an unlikely hero. In her second semester at college, Stargirl discovers new villains with telekinetic abilities and learns they have connections to both Earth-bound and extraterrestrial forces.

Benoist has said this will be “a whole different animal” from Arrowverse shows like The Flash or Supergirl because of its lighter tone. Her character has fewer superpowers than most heroes in the DCEU and relies on hard work (and optimism) instead – which is something we can all relate to!
