It was revealed by Deadline that Actor Jonathan Majors is rumored to play Kang the Conqueror in Marvel’s Loki. The film will be directed by Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), and star Tom Hiddleston as Thor’s brother, Loki. If this rumor is true, it would mean that a new Avengers villain has been cast before Infinity War even started filming!

Rumors of who might appear in the movie have been swirling since last year when Karl Urban hinted he knew about some “secret stuff” happening on set for Thor: Ragnarok. This doesn’t come as much surprise considering how many villains from different realms were seen during the scene at Anthony Hopkins’ home in Thor. In fact, there are so many villains that fans have been asking for Marvel to create a “Villain’s Guide” just like they did with the Avengers Initiative.

It is also rumored that Kang might show up in Doctor Strange when it comes out later this year, considering how many different realms are seen during his scenes. The character of Kang has appeared in various comics and animated TV shows over the years but will be making their first live-action appearance if Jonathan Majors is cast as him!

Kang was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby back in 1966 after being introduced as Thor’s arch-nemesis from another dimension who conquered Earth multiple times before finally being defeated by Hulk (the original) in Incredible Hulk 1973).

The origins of the character have always been unclear as well since he was an alien from another dimension who had conquered worlds before coming to Earth; one origin story even states that his whole body has never actually existed at any given time because it switches dimensions. So often! The closest we’ve seen him on screen before now would have been when he appeared in Jessica Jones (2015), but nothing else really came out of it.
