About the movie
Morbius is an upcoming superhero movie starring Tyrese Gibson. It will be the second instalment of The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s film series to star Spider-Man, following his appearance in Avengers: Endgame and before he appears in Spider-Man: Far From Home, which would make it both the third Spidey solo flick since Tom Holland took on the role and first without Iron Man. Morbius was created by writer Roy Thomas (of Stan Lee fame) and artist Gil Kane for purposes of working with publisher Martin Goodman’s newly acquired 1960s American rights to horror comics characters from rival company Hammer Film Productions Ltd., best known then as producers of British black & white movies featuring Dracula and Frankenstein.
As the Marvel Cinematic Universe expands to incorporate; more and more characters, it’s not surprising; that they would eventually get around; to Morbius: The Living Vampire. Directed by Mark Waters (Mean Girls) from a script penned; by Doctor Strange scripter; Jonathan Mabbott, Mortal Bodies stars Tyrese Gibson; as Dr Michael Morbius with; Jared Leto playing his nemesis, Adrian Toomes aka Vulture AKA The Shocker), Michelle Pfeiffer; as Aunt May Parker, Jamie Foxx as Miles Morales/Spider-Man 2099 and Adria Arjona; as Martine Bancroft.
Is there a teaser trailer for Morbius yet?
The teaser trailer; for Morbius has now been released – and Tyrese Gibson; was on hand to give us a sneak peek at the film.
The first look video; features footage of Dr Michael Morbius (Tyrese), who is played by Tyrese, and Adrian Toomes aka Vulture AKA The Shocker) who is played by Jared Leto, as they fight in the streets of San Francisco.
Dr Michael Morbius has gone through some changes; since we last saw him – most notably his lack of skin; that’s been replaced with an “exoskeleton” which he uses for fighting crime. And while this does make him more powerful; than before, it also comes with its own vulnerabilities: namely being susceptible; to fire or electricity-based attacks; like those from Toomes.
The trailer also features other familiar faces from the Marvel Universe such as J Jonah Jameson and Spider-Man who has to save a young woman from Morbius’s clutches. And while it might be easy for Spidey to take him down with his webbing or powers – this time around he doesn’t have them!
Also unveiled in the trailer is that we can expect some action scenes too: including one involving Toomes swinging through San Francisco on an electrified harness before landing on top of Morbius.
