Is “Loki” secretly connected to “Doctor Strange: The Multiverse of Madness”?

Loki

Marvel has been teasing that Loki is going to be in Doctor Strange: The Multiverse of Madness. However, many Marvel fans have wondered if Loki will actually be involved in the plot and how he will fit into the story. Is Loki secretly connected to Doctor Strange? Will he play a role in the upcoming game or movie? In this article, we explore these questions and more!

Does Loki connect to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness?

The first episode of Loki picks right after the events of Avengers: Endgame, where Loki escapes with the Tesseract and lands in the captivity of TVA (Time Variance Authority). The TVA makes Loki understand the purpose of keeping him as a prisoner as he disrupts the flow of the sacred timeline. In the premiere episode, the character called Miss Minutes explains that variants can create many timelines that will send the universe into madness and lead to a multiversal war. This is a direct reference to the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness film.

How can we expect Loki and Doctor Strange to be connected?

The answer might be yes, according to evidence found at Comic-con San Diego, where a panel with director Scott Derrickson was moderated by none other than actor Benedict Cumberbatch who played Stephen Strange in Doctor Strange (2016). In this interview, it was revealed that Loki would have many appearances during season two of ˜Loki’, which confirms one thing – there’s no way for him not to be directly or indirectly linked to Doctor Strange himself. Another clue is given when we see Miss Minutes talking about Loki being imprisoned as she says he disrupts the sacred timeline. Loki is, in a way, the one who disrupted time when he caused Thor to lose Mjolnir.

What do those connections tell us?

It seems like we might be seeing Loki show up again for Doctor Strange: The Multiverse of Madness… which would also make sense as one of the main antagonists will be Kaecilius, who ties into Thor Ragnarok. This might be the Loki we were looking for!

But because he’s working on both Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Waldron can change Loki to feed into his next project. So do you really need to see Loki understand Doctor Strange 2? The answer is more complicated than you think.

“I think that it’s all required viewing for everything,” Waldron says.
