What is the plot of “Killing Eve Season 4”?

During a BAFTA Q&A, Heathcote teased that the writers penning season four will “take it somewhere new, which involves taking risks. You just can’t tread water”.

But Eve and Villanelle’s relationship, as the beating heart of the series, will remain central to the story.

It’s clear that Eve and Villanelle are as drawn to one another as ever, but will they ever get their happily ever after?

“I’m not sure I see a truly happy ending for Villanelle because I think her own worst enemy is herself, and we all know that’s impossible to get away from,” Comer told the Toronto Sun.

Comer echoed that when chatting to W Magazine: “And I just don’t know how you ever get away from that. Thinking about the person she is, I feel like she’s going to be the cause of her own demise in many ways.”

Chatting to Entertainment Weekly, Gentle broke down that final scene, saying: “I just think they couldn’t get shot again. Or stabbed… they are on a bridge, and there are all sorts of drama that could have happened there.”

She added: “I think that what was really appealing was for both of them to have an honest conversation, which we rarely see… a discussion about where they are.

“And also, for Eve to say, ‘You’ve got to release me. I can’t stop thinking about you,’ and for Villanelle to say, ‘Well, it’s really easy. You just walk away.’ They walk away, and Eve turns around with Villanelle, and I think what you see in her is she knows that Eve is going to turn around.

Season 4 will premiere in 2022.

There’s no official release date yet, but the final eight-episode season will air next year. Production is set to begin early this summer in the United Kingdom and across Europe.

All three seasons of Killing Eve began airing in April, but it’s unclear if the same will happen for the fourth season next year.
