The Great British Baking Show is coming back on the BBC! Get ready for a new season of bakers and challenges. In this article, we will go through everything you need to know about Season 12: predictions, cast and review, and plot.
Great British Baking Show: Season 12 Predictions
A lot of us have been waiting for the return of The Great British Baking Show, and it’s finally here! Season 12 is coming back on Sunday, October 28th, in the UK. And while GBBS has a new season every year with a different cast, this time, they decided to bring back some familiar faces from past seasons to challenge themselves. So we can expect to see previous contestants like Kate Lyon and Val Stones as well as new ones like Paul Jagger and Hannah Witheridge.
Cast: predictions
The last episode showed us that there are three double eliminations this season so far, which means by now, only 14 bakers remain. If you look at how many bakers were eliminated from each heat, you can start to predict who will be in the next two weeks. Out of all bakers from week one, only five remain:
Kate Lyon
Val Stones
Paul Jagger
Hannah Witheridge
and last but not least…Megan Warder. It’s a good thing that Megan has been consistent so far because she is starting to look like the dark horse this season – and we know how important it is for her to win due to some personal reasons. You might say that with Val being eliminated this round, there will probably also be someone else going home soon, too which would make room for more new faces on our screens! The question now becomes whether or not they have someone to replace Val in the coming weeks.
What will be in the new season?
If you look at how many bakers were eliminated from each heat, you can start to predict who will be in the next two weeks. Out of all bakers from week one, only five remain: Kate Lyon.
Val Stones, Paul Jagger Hannah Witheridge, and last but not least…Megan Warder. It’s a good thing that Megan has been consistent so far because she is starting to look like the dark horse this season – and we know how important it is for her to win due to her family’s financial needs.
As for the bakers who will be going home in week two, it seems that only one is confirmed: Nick Siddall. The next three people to go are anyone’s guess, but we would wager they’re either Paul Jagger, Hannah Witheridge, or Val Stones – all of whom have been consistently high scoring up until now and also happen to come from different teams (which could make them easier targets).
We hope you enjoyed this recap as much as we did! Tune back into our blog when the new great British baking show season 12 episodes air on PBS.
Review:
Great British Bake Off Season 12 was a tough year for me because I missed out on some favorite contestants like Val Stones and Shaun Ward. But when I heard that season 12 was set in a nunnery, I knew it had to be good!
The first episode of the new series is a complete letdown for me as everything about it feels like an awkward rehash of previous seasons. The bakers are introduced with one-liners from their worst baking moments (something we’ve seen before). We’re looked for what went down at the start of filming – something we also saw in last year’s Christmas special. And there’s even some footage recycled from previous episodes spliced together to make it seem more current than they actually are.
I’m not going to give up on this early though because there could still be surprises ahead – so here are my predictions for the rest of season 12.
What will happen?
If you’re looking out for drama, there are a few things that might be worth keeping an eye on one baker is seen having what looks like an argument with Paul Hollywood in the preview teaser and another wants to go vegan – something he claims never happened before joining this series. The bakers also have to make bread while blindfolded in episode three which could lead to some mishaps if they can’t feel their way around properly. And I’m sensing a major disaster coming up when someone takes on a challenge where they have to bake five pies as fast as possible because it sounds really difficult!
