Netflix announced the renewal of season 2 due to last year’s success! In December 2019, they revealed this decision.

Plot Synopsis Of Special Season 2:

Ryan O’Connell, the creator of “Special,” explains that he will increase humor and awkwardness for season 2. If you could not handle season 1, wait until you see what’s coming for season 2.

In season one, Ryan and his overprotective mother had a heated argument. For Season 2, we can expect Ryan’s mom to patch things up with him. Season one had 15-minute episodes, but it’s not sure if season 2 will have the same format.
