Release Date:

Hulu announced that their newest original show would premiere sometime in 2021 (no specific date yet). It was then confirmed by Variety that it would debut on October 12th, though Hulu did not confirm the time or day a second time around.

Cast:

This is where it gets really good. Lily (Cinderella, Downton Abbey) plays Pamela Anderson and Sebastian Stan (Gossip Girl, Once Upon A Time and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) takes on the role of Tommy Lee.

On 8 May 2021, Hulu’s official Instagram account shared two photos of Lily and Sebastian in their Pamela and Tommy get-ups. The first shows Lily looking like a mirror image of Pamela: from the dramatic cat-eye eyeshadow to her signature blonde curls. The second image recreates the famous photo of Pamela and Tommy in which Pamela bites his nipple ring.

Plot:

As a 20-year old girl who’s been sheltered her entire life after suffering trauma from the death of Pam & Tommy’s mother Dina as a child, Pam is thrown into the real world with no direction or idea how to go about things on her own — she has never even had a job before! To find herself, Pam decides; that she must experience some independence; in adulthood. By moving out; for college. And making decisions; without anyone else; telling her what to do. This journey includes; meeting new people along the way (including fellas!), navigating work-life and school while juggling everything else going on, in your average person’s daily routine, of living life!

Pam’s parents are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary; when Pam announces her divorce; from Tommy. It has been three months, and she is struggling; to maintain the facade of a happy marriage. Which soon crumbles; as those around her begin to notice; that there was always something missing; for Pam in this relationship. Meanwhile, Tommy suffers his own set of pressures; at work with Sal Guaragna, who happens to be the boss’s son, but also an outsider himself because he is not Italian.

Rumors:

There have already been rumors swirling; about how much John Travolta; would be seen on screen. Some sources said; it would only be less than five minutes, while others claimed he’d make up 20% or more of the show’s total airtime.

The eight-episode series follows; Pamela and Tommy’s relationship; from when they married; less than a week after they first met; in 1995. To the fallout, after a sex tape from their honeymoon; was stolen and distributed online. The distributor, Internet Entertainment Group, was sued by Pamela and Tommy; resulting in a settlement; where the tape was made public again.

Pam & Tommy Mini-Series on Hulu is a scripted TV mini-series that will be released exclusively by the streaming service. This series comes from Academy Award winner Steve Harvey and Emmy award-winning producer Mark Burnett. The Pamplin Media Group was also added as an executive producer of this project with one major goal in mind: to bring awareness to health care issues.
