Tehran is an Israeli espionage thriller drama that Apple TV+ has renewed for a second season. In this show, you see what it is like being a spy in Iran during one of the most difficult times in recent history.

Premise Of Season 1 and Plot Synopsis:

The first season of Tehran tells the story of a Mossad agent who, in 2000, sets up an Israeli spy ring to monitor Iran’s nuclear program. The show follows his son and daughter-in-law as they work for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard while attempting to save their family from being exposed. Season one also follows the Mossad agent’s wife, who is a journalist for an Israeli newspaper, and her relationship with one of Tehran’s most prominent writers.

This show was filmed in both Israel and Iran to make it feel as though you are living in Tehran. It has been praised for its authenticity during this time period where tensions were high between these two countries.

The season finale of Tehran ended with a cliffhanger. So in the upcoming season 2, we will witness the aftermath of the cliffhanger. The season finale ends with a big question: Who will Amir choose?

Season two follows Amir and his son, who is still in Iran due to being forced into military service by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. The Mossad agent’s daughter-in-law also gets an opportunity to work for them while attempting to save her family from exposure. They also get an opportunity for Khatoon Zandi to work as well while attempting to save her family from exposure.

The Cast Details:

Some characters return, such as Khatoon Zandi, played by Nazanin Boniadi (Homeland), which has been praised for its authenticity during this time period where tensions were high between these two countries.

The cast includes Nazanin Boniadi (Homeland) playing Khatoon Zandi, Mojgan Nouri as Sofia Khanlari-Amir’s wife; Saba Azad Shiriyan portraying Hoda Maghami, and Parviz Sayyad, sharing the role of “Colonel Ghaffari” with Navid Negahban.

The Release Details:

Alon Aranya, who announced the renewal of the second season, said that the show would be streamed on Apple TV+. In Israel, the show will continue to air on Kan 11 as well as on Apple TV+. No official date for the premiere is being announced, but you can expect it somewhat in late 2021.
