The movie is directed by George Tillman Jr. and Frank Baldwin, Dan Gordon, and George Tillman Jr. are the writers of the movie.
The Plot of the Movie
Without any doubt, the biographical movie of George Foreman focuses on the boxing life and personal life of the boxing champion.
George Foreman was born on the 10th of January 1949 in Marshall, Texas. He grew up in poverty and had a troubled childhood which we can see in the trailer clearly. Foreman left school at the age of 15 and joined the Job Corps. Foreman discovered boxing while in the Job Corps, and he quickly realized that he had a talent for it. He began his amateur career in 1965 and won the gold medal in the heavyweight division at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City. Foreman turned professional in 1969, and his career got off to a fast start. He won his first 37 fights, with 34 of those wins coming by knockout. In 1973, Foreman fought Joe Frazier for the heavyweight championship of the world. Foreman won that fight by knocking Frazier down six times in just two rounds.
In 1974, Foreman faced off against Muhammad Ali in a highly anticipated fight, in that fight Ali used his superior speed and footwork to tire out Foreman, and in the eighth round, Ali knocked Foreman out to become the heavyweight champion of the world. Following the loss to Ali, Foreman took a break from boxing and converted to Christianity. He returned to the ring in 1976, and in 1977 he won the heavyweight championship for the second time by defeating Ken Norton.
Foreman kept boxing through the 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s, but he was never able to reclaim the supremacy he had in his early years. In 1994, at the age of 45, Foreman shocked the world by defeating Michael Moorer to win the heavyweight championship for the third time, becoming the oldest heavyweight champion in history. After that win, Foreman retired from boxing. He is considered one of the greatest heavyweights of all time and was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2003.
