A Haunting in Venice follows a group of friends as they travel during a break from their med school studies to Italy. The Plot Of “A Haunting in Venice”

The story is both mysterious and eerie, but with a certain sense of humor in the mix. The plot revolves around four friends who set out on a holiday in Venice, Italy. Once they arrive, they are met with a strange hitchhiking ghost that ends up kidnapping one of them. When the group of friends sets out to find their missing friend, they quickly discover that this ghost is not the only piece of supernatural trouble to arise in Venice.

Background Of This Movie

This is the first horror film by cinematographer Daniel Pearl. It is based on a true story that took place during a medical school vacation in Italy. In this story, seven people are stranded in Venice when their taxi crashes and their friend goes missing. The group gets stalked by a ghost who leads them to their friend’s corpse at the bottom of the Grand Canal. They then call for help; however, when their friends arrive to take them back home, they are attacked and killed one by one. This story later inspired Stephen Volk’s 1983 film “The Monster Club” which is an adaptation of David Hitt’s short story “The Pig”.
