The Time Traveler’s Wife, a drama series created by Steven Moffat, has been canceled by HBO after one season

The Time Traveler's Wife

As of today, we’ll be saying goodbye to Time Traveler’s Wife after just one season.

HBO COO Casey Bloys confirmed the content ahead of its Season 2 premiere at the Television Critics Association press tour, noting that “it just didn’t feel right”.

Moffat said in a statement that he was looking forward to pitching his show to new networks rather than being frustrated by network opposition.

This is the latest in an ongoing trend of this network — and others — refusing to order more than one season of a proposed program. A change in the marketplace and viewing habits has resulted in a rise in the previous rate, as well as to reject of some of the most highly-rated shows that were ever conceived by creators.

The landscape has only grown more cluttered since we began covering this trend just six years ago.

The storyline of The Time Traveler’s Wife

The Time Traveler’s Wife is a 2003 love story and science fiction novel by Audrey Niffenegger. The story, which is told in a nonlinear fashion, depicts the thoughts and feelings of both Henry DeTamble and Clare Abshire.

Henry has an unusual genetic disorder that causes him to involuntarily time travel with each twitching of his right hand. Henry’s disorder is called “Chrono-Impairment”, or CI. In short, he travels from the future to the past and back again.

Clare Abshire, a librarian, meets Henry for the first time when he uses his ability to prevent her from being hit by a car. Their meeting was not romantic but when she meets him for the second time a few days later at a party, she falls in love with him immediately and vice versa.

The Time Traveler’s Wife: Rose Leslie and Theo James’ HBO Series Is Cancelled After One Season

HBO has canceled their adaptation of The Time Traveler’s Wife after just one season. Let’s just say that this is not a good thing. Although they have yet to announce the show’s fate, Rose Leslie and Theo James’ project has been put on hold indefinitely. This comes after poor ratings with many saying that the show was poorly executed and disappointing for those who were looking forward to more sci-fi twists and turns.

The Time Traveler’s Wife was a popular novel by Audrey Niffenegger, who is also the writer behind the adaptation. The Time Traveler’s Wife has been adapted countless times over the years and it has been in development hell for many years as well. It originally started as a movie with Rachel McAdams, Eric Bana, and Sandra Bullock however; this project was put on hold due to problems with the script. Sometime later it would become a regular show instead
