With a missing daughter and an abandoned house, single mother Stephanie sets out to find answers about what happened. She teams up with Sean – Emily’s husband- on this search for treasure trove of information that could help them get closure from their loss while also bringing in some much needed cash from memoirs told through old photographs hidden inside the home where she went missing . However, as they start to put the pieces together, Stephanie and Sean realize that Emily’s disappearance is only part of a much larger mystery – one that has its roots in the past and involves a long-lost friend, a vengeful ex-lover, and a secret that could destroy them all.

Lively portrays Emily, the missing best friend who may not be as perfect as she seems. Golding portrays Sean, Emily’s husband who is hiding secrets of his own. Rannells portrayal of Darren, Stephanie’s husband provides comic relief in this otherwise intense story.

What are the challenges they face ?

The challenges each characters face is trying to figure out what happened to Emily. Stephanie is trying to find her friend while also caring for her son and managing her blog. Sean is trying to deal with the fact that his wife is missing and he may be a suspect. Darren is trying to support Stephanie while also trying to keep his own secrets hidden. Golding does a great job of creating suspense and keeping the reader guessing.

What is the climax like ?

The climax of the story is when Stephanie finally figures out what happened to Emily. She confronts Sean and he tells her the truth. This leads to a huge fight between Darren and Sean and eventually Darren leaves. Stephanie is left alone with her son but she is now convinced that Emily is dead. Golding does a great job of creating suspense and keeping the reader guessing. The climax is a bit of a let down but it is still a great story.

Who is the antagonist ? What are its motives ?

The antagonist in this story is Sean. His motives are to get revenge on Darren and to take over his life. He is a sociopath who enjoys messing with people’s lives. The most epic scene in this story is the final fight between Darren and Sean. It is a battle of wills and it is clear that Sean is the more evil of the two. The most loved character in this story is definitely Darren. He is a good guy who is just trying to do the right thing. He is also very brave and he never gives up. The author wants to convey that evil always triumphs over good. Sean is a bad guy who gets what he wants in the end. Darren is a good guy who tries to do the right thing but he ultimately fails.

I would recommend it if you enjoy dark comedies. It is a very well written and directed movie. The acting is also top notch. If you are looking for a light hearted film, then this is not the one for you.
