The Munsters : Rob Zombie reveals the exclusive first teaser for its Movie Version.
The Munsters is one of the most famous American TV series of all-time. It follows the Munster family, who are grotesquely misshapen and ghastly looking – yes, they are what can technically be called “monsters”. The show was a tale about a family of monsters that were constantly outcasts from society, but still managed to have a pretty good time. This article will discuss some events in the show that help it find its unique mixture of comedy and horror.
What is the plot of the story ?
The story follows the life of the Munster family, Herman, Lily, Grandpa and Eddie. Herman was a recluse who was determined to find his perfect mate. He discovered Lily, a beautiful young woman with shapely curves in an old family photograph. Herman fell madly in love with her at first sight and spent many years stalking her in hopes of asking her out on a date. Eventually, he found out she was a vampire as well as being unlivable because of it.
Who is in the cast ? What role did each character portray ?
The cast include Yvonne De Carlo , Fred Gwynne , Al Lewis , Butch Patrick, Roger Marsh and Lee Meredith. Yvonne De Carlo portrayed the role of Lily Munster, the daughter of Count Dracula and a vampire herself, who fell in love with Herman Munster. She was Lily, the young bride of a living corpse and she was Herman’s (Fred Gwynne) dream woman. Gwynne played the role of Herman Munster, a Frankenstein’s monster type character, who wanted to be loved by all. This role earned Fred Gwynne an Emmy Award nomination for his performance as the father to his monster family. Al Lewis played Grandpa from Outer Space in The Munsters . Grandpa has been on earth for hundreds of years and is an actual alien from outer space. He may look like an old guy but he can still remember what it was like to be young.
What are the difficulties they face ?
The Munsters family lives an unconventional and somewhat unconventional life. They try to hide the fact they are werewolves, vampires and Frankenstein’s monster. The family hides their true identities behind masks and grins their teeth at people. Although they aren’t considered “normal” humans, this does not mean that the family is all-together happy with their own identities. Several stories in the show involve Herman being jealous of Eddie who has a normal identity as his son (Eddie does not know about his family’s secret) and Grandpa being upset that he can’t go out with women on a date (he claims he’s too old to have a date).
What are the themes ?
The Munsters dealt with a few themes that many other series do not. The main themes were
Another theme that was put forth by the show is that family should not judge others based on looks alone. Some people on the show thought Herman and Grandpa were monsters because of their looks when in reality they were really decent, kind-hearted people whom you could trust your life with. Another lesson learned from the show was that despite the fact that you may look different from everyone else, you can still fall in love and have a happy life. It’s never too late to find true love even if you are considered a monster by others.
Who is the antagonist ? What are its motives ?
The main antagonist in The Munsters is none other than, of course, the Count Dracula. He is the Count and a vampire in disguise. It was determined to have Lily for himself ever since he saw her picture in the newspaper. He was secretly luring Lily (who loved Herman) so that he could marry her and make her his slave as well as turn her into a vampire. His main motivation in life was to enable him to live forever.
Would you recommend watching this ?
I’d definitely recommend this. It is a great family show that will give you some laughs, some scares and some laughs again. The cast has great chemistry together as we watch them interact with each other. Although the story may seem a little cheesy to many people at times, it’s worth watching just to see the real life comedy that can happen among these crazy people. Thanks for reading !
