This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings,” and takes viewers back to an era in which great power is forged; terrible wars are fought; and one Ring makes its presence — and danger — known to all. On the island of Nargothrond, where the sons of Fëanor first landed after their exile from Middle-earth, a descendant of that ancient race, now known as the great Turgon, is crowned High King in his own right. But he has enemies not only from without, but also within his realm who thirst for power and seek to wrest control of Nargothrond for themselves.

What is the plot of the story ?

It’s about the Two Trees, which were created by order of the Valar (the angelic powers). The Elves started to live in Valinor (the isle of the blessed), and Yavanna, one of the Valar, created two things: The first is the Two Trees: a silver tree and a golden tree. The Two Trees were fruits of the Valar, and they were brought to Valinor by Aulë, who had made them using his powers; they could not be fashioned by other elf-smiths. When the Elves came back to Middle-earth, they started to look for these trees and many of them arrived back without their trees, so they had to search even harder.

Who is in the cast ? What role did each character portray ?

The cast include Robert Aramayo , Joseph Mawle , Miranda Otto , Emily Beecham , Mark Hadlow and Anna Friel . Turgon is the main character of the story; he is a descendant of Fëanor himself. He is High-King in the city of Gondolin, and he protects his city from invaders by building high walls and hiding his city deep underground. It becomes aware that there are spies around, so he starts to trust fewer people than before.

What are the difficulties they face ?

When Turgon’s mother died, he loved her and wanted his father to love him. When he found out that his father didn’t love him and was only using him, he decided to leave Nargothrond to find a new place where no one would ever be afraid of him. This decision leads him and his two brothers, Ulmo and Araw, to go on a long journey through the north of Middle-earth. They see many things with their eyes; they see cities full of people who are living together peacefully, trying to live bravely with no wars. They are happy people . Because they have lived together for hundreds of years without any conflicts between them.

Who is the antagonist ? What are its motives ?

The Black Númenóreans are the antagonists of the story. They are not people from Numenor, because they were all killed by the High King of Noldor, Maedhros himself. There is one who remains alive and he is Elu Thingol, formerly known as Elwë. He lived with his elves in a peaceful area where no other being or race can enter. But Sauron did enter this region and took him as prisoner; he forced him to search for something that was near the Black Gates, on an island called Tol-in-Gaurhoth .

What are the epic scenes ?

There are several epic scenes in this film. One of them is when Turgon decides to have a secret meeting at the house of his old friend Indis. There, he tells his friends about what is going on in Nargothrond  . And he also explains why he wants to leave the city. The other epic scene is when Turgon goes to Tol-in-Gaurhoth alone  . And meets with Sauron, who explains to him that the Eldar (The Elves .  Who lived in Valinor) didn’t come all by themselves; they came with their ships and their hosts . Meaning that they were already an army in numbers, but not yet ready for war because they had not declared themselves against anyone.
